Your hands know more than your training ever explained. This series is about closing that gap — seven classes that rebuild the science underneath everything you already do, from why pain exists at all to the honest limits of what touch alone can fix.

It starts with pain itself: not as a malfunction to eliminate, but as a protective system doing exactly what it evolved to do — and the specific ways that system gets miscalibrated into chronic pain. From there, it opens up everything happening around your hands before they even touch skin: the placebo response that's present in every session whether you name it or not, and the tension between what a research study found on average and what the person on your table actually needs — two questions most manual therapists were taught to treat as settled, and neither one is.

Then it moves into the hands themselves. Touch turns out to be a communication channel with real bandwidth — decodable emotion, synchronized nervous systems, information your client reads whether you intended to send it. Your palpation gets recalibrated against actual numbers instead of "light, moderate, deep" left undefined, with an honest look at which popular claims about fascia and trigger points hold up and which don't. And clinical reasoning gets a real framework: the client's story, the type of pain, the phase of healing the tissue is actually in, translated into a decision about pressure and technique instead of a habit.

It closes with the question none of the other six fully answer on their own: is touch enough? The series' honest answer is that lasting change is a repetition problem, not a pressure problem — and that knowing the edge of what your hands can do is what makes everything before it usable rather than oversold.
